Multilingual Books to Transform Multilingual Learners

My Project
A number of students in my school have recently arrived to the United States with limited English skills. They are in need of language support, while also maintaining their literacy skills in their native languages. Books serve as a comfort for many readers and providing age-appropriate material is a key component in helping students adapt to a new school, culture, language, and climate.
Acquiring titles in a variety of languages provides opportunities for multilingual learners to better access their grade-level content.
These titles will be accessible to all readers at our school and provide opportunities to maintain native-language and multilingual leisure reading. My library is a figurative candy shop of books for all kids to circulate. Providing materials for all is foundational to ensuring each child has equitable opportunities to learn and grow.
