My Project

I teach at a very diverse school. Our school has 10 different languages spoken every day, and we have students from all over the world. Despite their differences, our students have formed a wonderful community where every student feels welcome. While our school has made a lot of progress, there is still much work to be done.

With the purchase of these books, our school will be able to hold a Back-to-School Book Fair.

Book Fairs can be powerful experiences for students. Even as adults, many of us still remember the books and prizes we received from our school's Book Fair. I want to give all of my students that same opportunity. To make our Book Fair equitable, we need books in English, Spanish, French, and Haitian Creole. Providing books in students’ home languages will make the Book Fair much more inclusive and help us foster a lifelong love of reading in every student.
