My Students
My students come from a Title I, low income, rural area in Nevada. They have huge hearts and really excel from hands on learning. They are really interested in desert animals and math. They need a lot of visual supports and manipulatives to grasp the concepts we talk about in math.
My Project
The tortoise enclosure will help address the next generation science standards. The tortoise will help the students learn about interdependent relationships in ecosystems and life cycles and traits.
The fraction tiles will provide the students an opportunity to learn about fractions hands on.
These will help the students master the common core math standards 3.NF.1, 3.NF.3, 3.NF.3.a, 3.NF.3.b, 3.NF.c, 3.NF3.d.
The counters will help the students master multiplication by building arrays. These will help them understand the common core math standards in operations and algebraic thinking.
The headphones will be used so students can listen and use the online resources with our Chromebooks. Our Chromebooks are used to enhance our learning and provide a second shot lesson for math and reading to our student who need multiple exposures to the lesson.
