This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
In TK, we have a strong focus on literacy and oral language skills.We focus on storytelling and retelling as it builds the foundation for independent reading and writing while also working on phonemic and phonological awareness.
Before a child reads and writes they talk and play!
To help students work on their storytelling skills in a fun way while also focusing on social-emotional learning and mental health, I have selected a few story kits from Lakeshore that focus on these themes. Each kit includes a big, ready-to-use prop and 10-12 washable, soft-sewn storytelling pieces that let children act out these beloved tales.
