My Project

I teach 450 students in kindergarten through fourth grade, and I love to teach them about different cultures. Music is a wonderful way to learn about different communities and people groups!

This project will provide my students new materials, books, and instruments to learn about cultures from all over the world!

We will focus on people groups that exist in our own community that are underrepresented. Many of my students have only ever experienced their own culture.

The books and activity books in this project will give us new games, poems, and songs from different cultures. The puppets will help us perform songs and stories and use play to discuss different cultures. The fish guiro and wood block are commonly used in music from other cultures and will give my students a fun experience playing!
