Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are motivated learners who look forward to exciting learning experiences in their STEAM classroom. Some of them have special needs while some others are ESL students with most students whose parents are from the Dominican Republic. Since they are from a Title I school in an urban area, they can benefit from good quality resources that make learning authentic and interesting.

My Project

My project includes art supplies for bulletin boards and walls as well as books for students to learn about diversity and inclusion as STEAM students.

Along with multicultural representation, it will also make our students with special needs feel included.

Lessons on STEM careers from A-Z can be represented better with artistic portraits of men and women in different shades and genders. They might also include people who stood out in society for their differences and yet made a difference in the world.

The books and materials will help students visualize themselves as being better prepared for college and their prospective careers.
