Multicultural Library!

Help me give my students informational books about different cultures. My students just love the "Who Was" series and, being a new teacher, I do not have many books in my own library.

My Students

My students are in fifth grade. They love Art and Science and getting their hands dirty. A lot of them reside on farms in rural homes so they have tough chores to complete on a daily basis. My students are kind, honest and very caring. They enjoy a good challenge as they have been tested this year especially with this virus. Their perseverance and hope inspires me to do better for them. They are a great group of loving kids who love to read and learn.

My Project

Please consider helping me give my students some diverse, informative literature for our school library. As a new teacher, I do not have many books in my own library for my students and they love to read. I think some of my students may almost be through all of the books I have available in my classroom.

The kids absolutely love the "Who Was" series of books and have used them for book reports, but we only have a couple in our library.

I learned about them from our first report when a lot of the children chose a book from that series to write about. I'd love to be able to offer them multi-cultural books to learn about different people in history and bring diversity to their minds and lives. Also, most of the students depend on finding a book to complete their book report from my classroom library, so having more choices for them would be so helpful and amazing. I would also be able to use these books when teaching the children about Black History Month, Women's History Month, Hispanic Heritage Month and so much more. Thank you for reading about my class and considering helping us have access to various books about different cultures and people.
