Multicultural Learning Book Project

My students need books that will teach them about how children in different parts of the world live and get books to read, including My Librarian is a Camel.

My favorite quote is "The world is like a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

My students come from all over the world, yet they only know their experiences.

Our school has students who come from many different religious and cultural backgrounds, yet many don't understand when their traditions and customs are dissimilar. It truly is a melting pot and we all have a lot to learn!

My Project

I would like to expose my students to what life is like for other children through the books I have requested. They will read the books and create projects such as posters, dolls, and presentations to share the stories with others. They teach others what they have learned and further research other customs and traditions.

Becoming more aware of the similarities and differences between children in our country and others will help children begin to become more culturally aware and accepting of others.
