Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are in need of opportunities to enhance their oral skills in English as a second language.
One way I have found in which the students feel less pressure expressing themselves orally is through the use of puppets; by providing my students with a set of multicultural puppets, which they can feel represented with, I seek to broaden their opportunities for free oral expression in the classroom in a way that is appropriate for Kindergarten.
The impact that learning through play has in early oral language development is so detrimental, and I am always looking for ways to provide more opportunities for it in the classroom. I think these set of multicultural puppets will definitely be loved and used by my students.
