My Project
The clay mask making materials will last for years to come in grades 3-5. The mask molds, aprons and hooks will be used repeatedly for student enrichment. I have used these items in other schools and found them sturdy and useful. The storage bins will keep each student's tools and work organized and quickly accessible. The clay tools and mats will ensure that each student has what they need without wasting time waiting for an item. The plaster of paris is to make clay battes to recycle left over clay and get the most use out of materials.
Having access to these additional materials will bring our clay projects to the next level.
The finished projects will certainly be stunning in our yearly school art show. Exposure to new materials and adequate amounts of supplies increases the wellbeing of both the students and the teachers. My students (many who come from low-income backgrounds) are so deserving of extra special materials and new experiences that they otherwise couldn't experience. These supplies will help me live up to their expectations of me as the BEST art teacher!
