My Students
My students range in age from 6 to 7 years old, and they have a variety of ability levels and learning styles. Our learners come from a wide range of ethnic and cultural backgrounds and experiences.
Having a safe, fun, and comfortable place to come and learn is a top priority for me as their teacher.
Each and every day, my students enter the classroom ready to learn with big smiles on their faces. They are motivated to make each and every day a great day for themselves.
My Project
My students are avid readers! They love to read books about every subject and topic, whether its fiction or nonfiction. Providing them with a wide variety of books covering various cultures, ethnicity, religions, socioeconomic classes, exceptionalities, races, traditions, and languages will allow them to experience these cultures and learn what life is like beyond their community. My students deserve access to diverse and enriching texts that challenge them both academically and personally to think critically. They will be able to choose books that interest them. My classroom library lacks those books right now. This project will provide my students the opportunity to explore different worlds through independent reading or small reading circle groups. These book will also allow my students to become curious about others and at the same time become stronger readers.
