My Students

My third grade students are eager to learn. They are curious, creative, and have great imaginations even though we are a Title I school in a high poverty neighborhood.

Our school is a Title I school and most of my students live in public housing which is why I need your help to help them thrive over this virtual time.

Their neighborhoods are rough and school is a place for them to be safe. My class is mostly African American children who face a lot of challenges.

My job, as a teacher, is to help them overcome these challenges and become the amazing adults I know they can become.

My Project

I am so grateful for all the donations we have received. Virtual learning has been tough and I need to get more multicultural and growth mindset books into the hands of my students. A lot of my kids have no books to read at home. I want to change that by setting up a school library where I will deliver books to students homes and rotate these books.

With your help these multicultural and growth mind set books will be given to the kids to read at home.

I have chosen books that cover emotions and feature children who work hard to achieve their dreams. My kids are trying so hard in this virtual environment but I realized last week when I visited a house that some of these kids have no physical books to read. I want to change that but I need you help.

All donations will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
