This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every student learns in a different way and I am a firm believer in differentiating instruction in my classroom so that all of my Kindergarten students succeed.

I co-teach in a classroom with 36 kindergartners at an all Kindergarten school with 500 students!

All of the students at our school receive free breakfast and lunch. Our school is in a very low socioeconomic community. Most of our students have not had the opportunity to attend Pre-K or have significant learning experiences in their homes.

My Project

All children learn differently and as their teacher it is my responsibility to be sure that I am giving them a multi-sensory learning environment. Research has proven that when concepts are taught using two or more “senses” that children retain information more easily.

With these new sand trays to use in our classroom my students will be given the opportunity to expand and explore new learning.
