Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Where the majority of the students are English language learners and come from predominately Spanish-speaking homes.
Many of our students have experienced trauma in their short lifetimes.
They live in a community far from libraries or other educational resources within walking distance of our students. Despite the lack of access to outside areas, my students have been able to develop a love of learning and cooperation.
Creating a multi-sensory learning environment so that my students can engage fully in enhancing their reading skills. With the use of the Orton-Gillinham methodology and high-interest materials, my students will become stronger readers. With so much learning loss over the past two years, giving students a new way to engage in reading development is key to building success.
Creating a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for my students is at the heart of my teaching. This project will help me create that environment.
