Research shows that multi-sensory environments provide a calming place for children with sensory processing difficulties to regulate throughout the day.
Specialized sensory equipment such as thick mats for crashing, fiber optic lights and bubble tubes for calming visual stimulation, and vibrating pillows and wraps will transform a corner of my therapy room into a sensory oasis for my students.
The sensorial area will welcome all students and be especially beneficial to my autistic students. They can become dysregulated from the abrasive, sensory input throughout the school environment.
