This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students enjoy listening to music, but we are without a listening center. I would love for my students to have a complete listening center in our classroom.

My students are special needs children who are on the Autism spectrum.

In my class, the students levels and abilities are all different. Some are beginning learners while others are more independent. My students attend a district school in New York that caters to students with special needs. Though my students are all individuals, I find they share a commonality in music.

My Project

Having a read along listening center and cd player will enhance the learning experiences of my students. My multi-sensory students learn best through visuals, sound, movement, and repetition. Music calms and soothes my students when they are feeling anxious or uneasy. Having a listening center will also bring many opportunities to utilize audio books.

By donating to this project you will give my students another outlet to express themselves, while also enhancing the overall reading instruction in class by having more options for audio books.

I can reach my students by offering them different lessons on tape.
