This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a first-year teacher, I will have a lot of new obstacles to overcome, but providing my students with the necessary supplies should not be one of them. I want to start my year with multimodal and sensory tools to help the students feel encouraged and organized.
My focus is on Multifaceted & interdisciplinary approaches to have content be engaging & aligned with the learning standards.
I want to cover the bases and ensure I have the most integral and vital supplies to begin my teaching career. I am fortunate enough to be working with students in my community- English Language Learners- who will benefit from having an educator with a background similar to theirs. Similarly, my school is transitioning (since 2017) to a Dual Language school, therefore, adjusting curriculum and supplies is imperative to ensure that ELL students have an effective and equitable learning context.
