In my English as a Second Languages classes, my goal is to focus on technology enhanced ESL instruction and learning. This occurs through researching, writing, publishing, and interactive English Language Development Programs.
My students attend an International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program.
They are English Language Learners and are pulled out of their homeroom class daily for English as a Second Language Instruction. They work extremely hard becoming literate in a second language.
My Project
My students will have the opportunity to use the netbooks for research independently and in small groups. This will help support their IB units of inquiry through research projects and written pieces. They will also be able to publish their writing and learn keyboarding skills. Our school is set up for students to be able to quiz on every book they read, so this would provide quick and easy access for them to take reading quizzes.
Donations to this project will help kids get access technology in their ESL classroom.
This is so important for these kids because very few of them have technology at home. It gives them the opportunity to learn about and feel comfortable operating computers, researching on the Internet, and keyboarding skills.
