My students need copies of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them to be able to engage in rich discussions and writing opportunities through our school's Panther Book Club.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Despite living in a low-income/high poverty area, my kiddos still deserve the best technology and resources the world has to offer!
I want my students to know that they have what they need, when they need it, to help them learn and grow!
My students are the future of the world, and I want to impact their future by ensuring they have the tools they need to be successful. I can't express to you in a limited number of characters how wonderful and deserving each one of my learners are.
My Project
We created the Panther Book Club to foster a LOVE of reading within our students! We focus on books that will pique the students' interest and will give them the desire to continue to go on journeys through engaging novels!
Our students do not always have access to books outside of the school environment.
We want to expose them to a variety of genres and ensure they have meaningful discussions throughout the novel study. A love of reading will expand their learning throughout all subject areas. It is our hope to create life-long readers.
The students will read the book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, have bi-weekly book club discussions, and as a culminating activity, we will go see the soon-to-be-released sequel of the film.
