My Students

My 2nd-grade students are kind, motivated and eager-to-learn. They enjoy working collaboratively and using technology to enhance their learning. My students attend an inner-city public school. Many of my students are bused from the surrounding neighborhoods, and 80% come from low-income households. My students qualify for free breakfast and lunch every day. My students are excited, motivated, and look forward to learning new ideas, but they will need the proper resources in order to be successful. Having these tools would make it a better learning environment.

My Project

Our school receives a very low budget for classroom supplies. We receive a small crate with very few supplies. All year long, we are constantly looking around for basics like pencils, markers, and tape. By December, teachers are spending our own money in order to make the copies that are required by our district curriculum.

Since we are not getting the supplies needed I am forced to spend a great deal of my own money on the basics.

We go through thousands of pencils a year (I am not sure where they disappear to) and the families I work with are usually unable to contribute to basic classroom needs. Your donation would go a long way towards helping our classroom be fulled stocked for the 2019-2020 school year.
