Much Needed Supplies for Grade 3

My Project

This year, my class was fortunate to receive new desks and chairs, greatly improving our learning space. However, the chairs did not come with tennis balls for the legs, leading to floor damage as students push their chairs in and out. To prevent further wear and reduce noise, I am requesting tennis balls to protect our floors and create a quieter, more focused learning environment.

Additionally, I attended a Building Thinking Classrooms training, where I learned the importance of using vertical whiteboard sheets for small-group collaboration.

These sheets encourage active engagement and problem-solving, allowing students to work together in groups of three to four. Unfortunately, I was unable to afford these materials, limiting my ability to implement this strategy. With funding, I can provide my students with these whiteboards, transforming our math lessons into interactive, student-led experiences.

Beyond academics, I want to ensure my students have access to sports equipment for recess. Over time, the supplies left by the previous teacher have worn down and broken. Since my grade level shares recess time with others, we do not have access to communal sports equipment, limiting my students’ opportunities for active play. New equipment would allow them to engage in physical activity, build teamwork skills, and enjoy their recess time to the fullest.

These simple yet impactful resources—tennis balls, whiteboard sheets, and sports equipment—will greatly enhance my students’ learning and overall school experience.
