Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The materials I am requesting will help support my Spanish Music Enrichment.
All of our kids want to learn to play an instrument or learn a new language at least once in their lives, but many underserved communities don’t have the access to these classes.
The 8-note handbells and drumsticks on my wishlist will provide the perfect music introduction to my preschoolers and will empower them to try an instrument again in the future.
The practicality of the instruments will allow them to learn comfortably and in collaboration with each other while building self-esteem.
Students will learn universal songs, like “Happy Birthday,” that have been translated to Spanish and will perform at culminating/parent-engagement events where they will showcase what they have learned and will be praised for their hard work and effort.
