Help me give my students headphones, a laminator, and other materials that will keep them engaged in the lesson and create a thriving learning environment. My students come from poverty-stricken homes and deal with emotional disorders.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have been teaching for the past 7 years, and time and time again, each set of students create a home in the classroom. My students face many struggles such poverty, lack of self-confidence, and emotional challenges. Despite the challenges of the students, they show up to school each day. Not every day will be the best, but they continue to preserve and make strides in their education. I want to be a part of their success, and I believe that the tools can help boost their education and their self-worth. My ELA classroom allows them to express themselves and learn how to read, write, and communicate. Their voices matter in this world, and I want to give them the tools to shine! I have requested materials that will strengthen their reading skills, as well materials that will keep them focused and engaged!
