This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am a new teacher and it is my second year in third grade. I took over a room of a teacher that retired and she had many outdated books that I needed to donate. I am now looking in to showing my library some love and I asked for suggestions to make my library more meaningful for my students.
On this list of books, I took their interests into consideration and I want to get books that my students want to enjoy and want to read.
I think it is important that students have many opportunities to experience books because books can take them to places they have never been before. I also want them to feel represented more in my library. With more of a selection of books, I can hopefully spark more of their interest in reading. My students will enjoy reading a classic chapter book collection, Captain Underpants collection, Dr. Seuss, and more.
