Help me give my students a better learning experience. I have been teaching special needs for 16 years, and students struggle tremendously to read independently. I would love to have a fully equipped classroom this coming school year.

My Project

My students are from some of the most impoverished areas in the District of Columbia. They struggle to read independently, and many enter my classroom in 9th and 10th grade, 5 to 6 years behind. If they were able to follow the reading material on tablets, with audio assistance, they would be able to complete so much more work independently. They would have the opportunity to be successful on their own, further promoting their academic progress.

Many times students lack the confidence to further their ideas, and dive deeper into literary text.

The connections they are able to make through textual analysis creates a broader world view for them to see themselves through. With headphones and tablets for station use, they can focus more on critical skills.
