Help me give my students fresh, compelling and well-crafted stories that have been hand-chosen to appeal to the diversity of strengths, interests and talents of our unique classroom.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
These kids have shown incredible resilience in the face of some of the most difficult educational challenges of their young lives. This year, our class will use their courage, ingenuity, and bright spirits to make fifth grade a memorable and powerful chapter in the story of their learning.
My Project
These materials will be utilized DAILY in our classroom, during Read-to-Self, Quiet Time, and when students check-out books from the classroom library.
By curating a rich trove books for our kids to choose from that are engaging, relevant, and culturally and socioeconomically diverse, we can guarantee that all our readers will feel both seen and heard in storytelling.
No child should ever abandon the habit of reading under the misconception that "it's boring," or they are not "a reader." At this critical point in their educational journey, we have the opportunity to shower our kids with well-crafted, relevant stories that they will cherish and remember for years to come.
