My Students
Imagine walking into kindergarten without any preparation. No interaction with other kids, classrooms or teachers. Scary huh? My classroom helps prepare students so they do not have to be overwhelmed in a new environment. I help give these students form their basic and fundamental skills before jumping into the big world of general education kindergarten.
The students in my classroom vary in skill levels, age, gender, and race.
However, they all share one thing in common. They want to learn!
My Project
These are very pivotal years my students. Being able to reach them this early in their educational journey can have a huge impact. Students have various skill deficits that can be alleviated with early intervention. Many of my students have difficulties with social and emotional skills. The moods and emotions mirrors will help foster these skills. For my students that have difficulties with language, the language photo skills will promote student's expressive and receptive language. The storytelling puppets will aid in both language and social/emotional skills. The play dough set will allow students to incorporate all of these skills, as well as fine motor, by sharing the tools in our art center. All materials will be used by every student and all the future students.
