This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the leadership advisor here at OMS, where we plan community and whole school events and activities regularly. I also teach social studies for over 200 students. Flexible seating options are needed for some of my squirrley students, but I am unable to afford them on my own. Additionally, we are low on resources to have assembly activities, so some of the equipment in my cart could help us out with that! Lastly, our goal of the year was to create an outdoor family/community movie night tradition. We envision using the outdoor movie screen and the projector to host these movie nights as a fundraiser initially.

We then hope to transition this to a service project by having food or clothing drives in lieu of charging for admission.

We would then donate everything we collect to the North Valleys Family Resource Center that is housed in our building! We need these funds to accomplish our goals!
