My Project
I am overjoyed, headed into my 3rd year teaching Kindergarten! I have slowly started to buy and add things to my classroom each year, but it can become pricey and not in the budget! My school provides us classroom supplies, and curriculum materials- if you know a classroom teacher, then you know this is the bare minimum! My new kinders deserve a warm and inviting classroom! It can be hard working in a low-income area where all you want is to provide each and every student with the environment and supplies they deserve. Play is a cornerstone of Early Childhood Development, crucial for fostering cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
I would love to be able to add the Small round table and the ABC rug to the dramatic play area for my students to feel more comfortable and make better use of the space.
Every morning, my students have a 'slow start' with sensory toys and manipulatives at each table. I often feel like I am reusing the same manipulatives too often and would love to switch out the materials more frequently. That is why being able to add the Magnetic Blocks, STEM Straws, and Wooden Logs to my classroom would give my students more choice! There are also things on my list that are simply housekeeping and to make my life in the classroom more organized! The paper towels for cleaning throughout the year; Plastic storage bins to keep sensory toys/manipulatives in, and art supplies stored neatly; and a storage organizer for my desk to keep all my materials separate. This school year, I also want to keep Small Caddies at each desk for my students to have easy access to scissors/glue sticks, etc.
