My Project

My 7th-grade ELA classroom serves a group of bright, resilient, and creative students who thrive with hands-on learning, structure, and visual supports. The items in this project will directly support their academic and social-emotional growth. Supplies like Crayola markers, colored pencils, poster boards, and cardstock will allow my students to express their learning in colorful, creative ways—whether it's through anchor charts, visual schedules, or interactive notebooks. Composition books will serve as daily writing journals, encouraging reflection and growth in literacy. Headphones, clipboards, and cord organizers will help maintain a calm, focused learning environment that meets the diverse needs of each learner.

My goals for this project are to create a classroom space that is organized, well-stocked, and supportive of different learning styles.

With tools like a laminator, easel pad paper, Expo markers, and binders, I can build reusable visual aids and learning centers that promote independence. The addition of a digital clock and world map supports both life skills and geography lessons, while games and mindfulness coloring books give students healthy outlets for social skills practice and emotional regulation. These resources will help my students stay engaged and feel successful every day.

What makes my students special is their perseverance and individuality. They come to school eager to learn despite facing challenges, and they light up when given the tools to express themselves and connect to the material. Each item in this project has been chosen with them in mind—to meet their needs, celebrate their strengths, and help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
