it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
In my kindergarten class the students love listening to stories being read to them. Unfortunately it is very difficult to read the stories that every child wants to hear. My class needs a listening center where they can listen to stories independently.
The school that I teach at is a Title I school.
Seventy-five percent of the students are English language learners. My classroom is the only place for most of them to listen to stories and to be read to. My classroom is the place where they learn English. I have to create an environment where the children can be exposed to as much literature as possible. I really need to extend my resources for the my students. A listening center would really give my students the opportunity to be exposed to more books and more English.
My Project
A listening center will give my students a great opportunity to listen to any story that they choose, and develop a love for reading and books. I want my students to love reading and be able to read and understand many books. A listening center gives the students the opportunity to accomplish this. Please give my students the chance to independently listen to books and develop love for reading.
As a kindergarten teacher it is my job to develop a love for reading for my students.
In order for students to love books they need to be exposed to books and listen to many stories. A listening center will give my students the chance to hear multiple stories during a short period.
