My Students

I teach third grade in Colorado. My class consists of active kids who love the outdoors. They love to have hands-on learning experiences and group projects. We go on field experiences and hikes monthly to promote learning beyond the walls of the school. They come to school each day ready to take on the new challenges and take advantage of the new day of learning. I am so proud of them and the challenges they can overcome.

My Project

Kids love to wiggle and move around. Sitting for long periods of time at a desk is exhausting. I want to give them opportunities to learn in a way that fits them best. There are so many different types of learners and a desk does not fit all of them. The reading chairs with back support will be used so kids can sit on the floor but get back support. I have had students who enjoy sitting right in front of me without other distractions. Being able to choose how you learn makes learning more enjoyable for so many kids. This is the first step for many kids to start succeeding in the classroom.
