My Project

45 headphones to support Ms. Kelsey's Kindergarten class. These headphones will play a pivotal role in improving both individualized learning experiences and group dynamics, particularly during benchmark testing and small group rotations.

In the current educational environment, personalized learning and efficient assessment methods are essential for kindergarten students.

With the increasing integration of technology in classrooms, students often engage with various educational software and online assessments, which require audio components. The headphones will allow students to participate in benchmark testing and small group rotations without distractions, ensuring that they can focus on their individual tasks.

Currently, the lack of sufficient headphones in the classroom limits students' ability to fully engage in these activities.

How the Headphones Will Be Used:

Benchmark Testing: During standardized benchmark testing periods, students must listen to instructions, prompts, and content provided by the test. This will allow for more accurate assessment of each student’s abilities, enabling teachers to track progress and identify areas where additional support may be needed.

Small Group Rotations: Ms. Kelsey’s Kindergarten class follows a small group rotation model. Headphones will be used during these technology-based rotations, where students will listen to educational podcasts, phonics games, and other interactive audio-visual learning tools.

Benefits of the Headphones:

Improved Focus: With personalized headphones, students will be able to block out ambient noise, allowing them to concentrate fully on their tasks, whether during benchmark testing or small group rotations.

Increased Engagement: Many educational tools used in the classroom are audio-based. By having headphones for each student, they can engage more effectively with phonics programs, math games, and other interactive content that promotes learning.

Equity: With enough headphones for each student, we can ensure all students have equal access to technology-based learning, promoting inclusivity and fairness.
