This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have an amazing group of first graders who are excited to learn. My project includes materials to help meet them at their level and build their reading skills, as well as social emotional skills through books and manipulatives.

We spend a portion of our day in small group centers doing a variety of reading and writing activities specific to the students reading levels.

These resources will help make small group time more engaging and beneficial. The materials will help build upon the student's current reading level, and give a variety to the ways that we can learn to read. The different materials will allow us to learn in smaller group settings, and keep the students engaged through a variety of activities and materials.

The books listed will be used during the weeks leading up to the holidays. My students love our whole class reading time and will love these new books.

The students will be so excited to see and use the new learning materials.
