My Project
Hello! I am a first-year teacher teaching 4th grade at a Title 1 school. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. I am looking for help funding my first classroom in order to make it a welcoming and comfortable place for my students.
I am looking for decorations and tools to make my classroom welcoming (my classroom will be bee themed).
I am also looking for tools and incentives to use for classroom management. I plan on using little wooden bees as a behavior management tool. My mentor teacher while student teaching had a class bean jar. Each student starts the day with 2 beans on their desk. If students are off task or behaving inappropriately, they lose a bean. At the end of the day, the beans left on the students desks go into a class reward jar. When the jar is full, students will get a class reward such as extra recess, a dance party, or pajama day. Since my classroom will be bee themed, I've decided to do the same concept, but with little wooden bees instead of beans.
