My Students
Each and every child in my classroom is unique and absolutely loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies greatly. Our program is a high school life skills program and many of our students require consistent sensory diets where they are able to calm and organize themselves through the use of various sensory manipulatives. My goal is to meet those needs and tailor each student's learning to fit their needs! We utilize a variety of learning strategies, group work, flexible seating and multi sensory approaches to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! I am beyond blessed to be able to work with this incredible group of students!
My Project
My students ability to self regulate depends greatly on meeting their sensory needs! These materials such as the weighted blankets and manipulatives will allow them to maximize their potential and reduce behaviors associated with sensory processing disorder.
Providing my students with the tools to assist them with coping skills and strategies for them to be able to self regulate and calm down is something I am very passionate about!
Using weighted blankets such as Tumble Forms 2 Weighted Blanket can assist my students to calm and focus. Fidget toys such as Twiddle Nathan Weighted Therapy Aid, Sensory Therapy can provide my students with the support that they need to reduce anxiety and be successful throughout their day. Calming Autism Sensory LED Light Projector Toy Relax Blue Night Music Projection will provide a calming environment for my students as well. Please help me achieve that goal!
