This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students are incredible - they bus in from all over Los Angeles, sometimes taking 3+ city busses to get to us increasing stress levels and impacting their bodies. These yoga blocks/tools, storage cart for easy access and other health classroom supplies will ensure the best experience in their courses and increase enjoyment overall!
Our yoga elective is new and I want to give them the best experience learning about the strength of their bodies while working on stress relief and the health of their minds.
They deserve so much more, but this is a step I can take to bring them better physical and mental-emotional health. Some of the supplies listed will directly help my yoga elective, like the direct supplies or the skeleton where we can talk about body and joint impacts and physical health benefits, and some will add to my health classroom and the learning of students overall like the dental dams and condoms for my sexual health units, but all will benefit students in their journey to health and wellness!
