Help me give my students a relaxing and updated reading corner with comfortable and relaxing seating. Also, to provide fun and stimulating games that promote learning and enjoyment! Our classroom is filled with unique and diverse learners.

My Project

My classroom is filled with unique and diverse learners. I am a special education teacher serving 18 students ranging in grades 4th through 7th. My project will provide a cozy and comfortable reading area and double as a calming corner for students in need. We participate in read-aloud and individual silent reading sessions daily to help enhance comprehension, fluency, and writing goals. An updated reading corner would help the students to relax more in the space that they spend such a significant amount of time.

The secondary portion of my project is to provide students with fun and educational games.

Many of the ones we have, we received second-hand and are missing pieces. I would love to give them the opportunity to learn how to have these shared experiences together as classmates and learn various new skills. There are so many nontraditional ways of teaching using fun and creative board games that I would like to bring to our classroom environment.
