Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a low-income and very high-need school. My supply budget is nil and the needs of students keep increasing. My basic supplies budget was reallocated to basic student supplies.
My office is a hub of support for students and parents.
I often track down resources and provide materials for families to get assistance for their children within the school and the community. This requires a great deal of consumable office supplies, which is now completely on my own expense. I want to continue to give parents something to take home and have hope there is help for their child.
By helping me cover the basics (printer toner, markers, sand timers, etc.) opens my budget to continue to support our children in group foster placements with materials to participate in spirit days and extracurricular activities.
