This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school has a large special education population with many diverse learning capabilities, learning needs and learning styles. Our students come from a variety of different economic backgrounds with over 70% coming from shelters. As diverse as our students are economically and culturally, they are diverse in their academics. Our students come into school ready and willing to accomplish the tasks at hand. As each student enters the classroom they are happy and eager to see what we will learn!
My Project
I am requesting 20 Fire 7 Tablets for each of my students so that they will each have access to various websites to increases their reading and math skills. We provide several amazing websites for the students to gain better skills and knowledge in math and reading, however, due to the low socio-economic backgrounds of most of our students they don't have access to the necessary materials to help them succeed. Also, most of our students come from bilingual or monolingual-Spanish homes and have no one to work on these skills with therefore the websites will be helpful to all!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
