Have you ever looked up a word in a dictionary and couldn't find it because the book was outdated? That's what my class has to deal with everyday; old, damaged, and ripped dictionaries and thesauruses. Frustrating!!!!!!!!
My students are low income level working with very limited research resources.
We need new and more up to date dictionaries and thesauruses to help improve our research skills, writing and vocabulary. Having newer dictionaries and thesauruses will definitely help my class with vocabulary development.
My Project
My students are a lively bunch. They are full of energy and imagination. They love to create and write stories, essays etc but lack the necessary research tools to help make their writing more colorful. We need a class set of thesauruses/ dictionaries to help make their writing more creative and expressive.
Helping students be more creative through expression is a huge gift.
