My Project

I am a proud first year teacher who teaches first grade. My wonderful school consists of inner-city students. Some of my students lack their basic necessities where it would make it hard for them to focus and complete their work. Being hungry is a huge set back in grabbing the student's attention.

When students are distracted by their growling stomachs they are not focus on retaining the material.

My students are in need of snacks.

Another necessity that my students lack are the materials needed for the classroom. Majority of my students have asked for a pencil to bring home in order to do their homework. When students cannot complete their work they will lack the motivation to even start. Another necessity that is lacking in my classroom is maintaining a clean environment. When the classroom is a breeding ground for germs this causes an environment where everyone's health is at risk.

Helping contribute to my classroom necessities can create an environment where the students can overcome these challenges and encourage their academic growth.
