My Project

This year, our school has chosen a patriotic theme in celebration of election year. We are very excited to adorn our walls with red, white and blue, to promote a cohesive learning environment that is also pleasing to the eye. Since we are located in a very impoverished area, there are many supplies and necessities that are hard to come by for our students, as well as our teacher.

This is the message we wish to share with our students.

As a school, and as a class, I want my students to feel like they are part of something bigger than they are, something important. A classroom and hallway that is covered with positive messages can really drive home that feeling. Aside from looking inviting, my classroom promotes cohesion and inclusion, giving students a feeling of safety and homelike comfort. Many of the items requested will be used to create eye-popping displays and a theme of unity that begins in the classroom and extends to the hallway, connecting us with the entire elementary school.

As I mentioned, our school is located in a very rural area where many people struggle just to keep food on the table. With your help, we can have access to wireless mice to use with our chromebooks. It really cuts down on the difficulty of using technology. Also, organization is a must. We use folders for everything, and it really helps them develop good habits, as well as keeping mess and lost work to a minimum. We are working hard to improve our math scores, and the use of white boards is vital. Last year, we wasted a lot of money on tissues just keeping our boards erased. Math manipulatives such as protractors are also vital to allow hands on work.
