My Students

My students come from rural Iowa, where many of their families work so hard just to get by. My students are filled with energy and enthusiasm. They are always willing and excited to try any new thing that I have thrown their direction and they complete it with excellence. We are always doing our best to build each other up and facilitate productive relationships. They are some of the hardest working students I have had the pleasure of working with.

My Project

One of the things my students need to keep practicing is how to show their work. Whiteboards are a great way to show them that mistakes are alright and that trying is important. It is also helpful as their teacher to be able pinpoint exactly where they took a misstep and to be able to quickly correct that one place. These will be particularly helpful due to the graphing capabilities they allow us to work with.

I also have a few students who struggle to work through problems in the traditional paper/pencil format, but for whatever reason they can solve them with no problem on whiteboards.

It would be great to have this option for all of my students with quality whiteboards.
