My Students
Hello! My group of 12 (eventually 17) preschoolers are very inquisitive, independent, and excited learners! I have worked at the preschool since 2009. I just went back in August to my classroom for my third year as lead teacher!
My main goal every year is to provide the best learning experience that I can provide to inspire my students!
My goal is to be able to provide my students with some materials that focus on literacy skills. A couple years ago we lost our donation that provided the Scholastic readers to our students. The children always have loved getting them each month. I would love to provide my students with these again.
It is so important for my students to have educational and up to date literacy materials that capture the child's interest! Besides the print materials, our classroom lacks any computer/laptop/IPad. Although this is a tool that I have avoided getting for my students up until now, it is important for the children's print knowledge and creativity to have a computer to use for specific educational learning activities.
My Project
I will use the Scholastic readers and magazine for small group literacy focus activities. The children love that they include questions, facts, and fun with topics that associate with that current month. Having these back would make a huge difference for my students!
Technology is something that as an educator of young children from low income homes, my students do not have access to devices that they will need skills for in their elementary education and beyond.
I would love to have a tech center set up for me to work one-on-one with my students on a laptop utilizing specific educational apps that focus on language/literacy skills! Thank you for considering this project!
