My Students
My group of 12 (eventually 17) preschoolers are very inquisitive, independent, and excited learners. My student's home backgrounds, for the most part, do not have materials at home to be used while their families are quarantined. These materials will allow for my students to continue their learning at home.
My main goal every year is to provide the best learning activities to promote new experiences that result in personal and academic growth!
With numbers of COVID exposure growing in our community, my classroom is seeing an increase of children staying home to quarantine and missing class. My lessons I am trying to teach would be greatly served with materials for them to utilize.
A range of materials will make sure to suit all my diverse children's interests and allow them to learn! One child who recently returned to in-person learning stated, “I missed being here. I didn’t have stuff to learn with”.
My Project
These materials include items to teach literacy skills, math skills, and construction concepts. In-class students have these and similar hands on materials readily available for lessons. These kits will allow my students on quarantine, or if our school should happen to close, to have access to materials that I can send lessons to them for at home learning that address the same skills I am teaching to their classmates.
I will showcase the same materials from these kits to create my at home instructional learning videos to teach vital skills they would otherwise have missed out on!
