This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This year I was the teacher for a new third grade unit. My room was a makeshift temporary room. I have finally been given a nice new (but empty) classroom. I work at a Title I school and absolutely love it. My kids and their families mean the world to me and I am looking for funding to make my classroom match the deep passion I have. The Literacy Act has also made 3rd grade a crucial part of elementary schools and I need the materials to make my kids feel safe and at home so they can take in all the knowledge they will need to be successful on their future endeavors! A charging cart would change the game for us because of how often we use our chromebooks and I don’t have enough outlets to power them all over night to ensure a full charge. It makes digital literacy hard to teach whole group. A rug for our classroom would make the space more inviting therefor making it feel like a safe haven for students who may face a hard home life.
