Mrs. G’s Top 10 Books for 2nd Grade

My students need 10 recently published children’s books to keep our classroom library current and interesting.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Goode's classroom raised $195

This project is fully funded

I always try to make literature interesting in my classroom. One way to do this is by adding recently published books to my collection. These books will be used to read aloud to the students to encourage deeper thought on various subjects.

One of the books I want to include is Mama Says. Not only does the book exhibit the love and dedication of a mother, but it also introduces mothers of different cultures. I want to use all these books to teach literature and other topics at the same time.

When you were younger can you remember a specific book, other than a text book, that not only helped you with your reading skills but also taught you something interesting? I want to read the book Hook with my students. This book is about an orphaned bald eagle. In the fall we visit a local animal conservatory and see an orphaned eagle. I want to use this book to help the student have a better understanding of the bird they will eventually visit.

All of the books that I have asked for have been published in the past year. I want to keep the interest of my students by introducing them to quality books that are about current topics. Please donate and make learning more fun in my classroom.
