My Students

My kids are readers! They look forward to our daily independent reading time. I've learned that they love informational texts, fiction, poetry, comic books, and especially biographies. These kids will read anywhere - at their desks, on the floor, under tables, stretched across two chairs, and even on the playground!

It's fairly typical to hear at least a handful of kids moan, "Just five more minutes pleeeeaase!" at the end of our daily independent reading time.

They love it that much!

My Project

I just received three big boxes of new books that I can't wait to share with my third grade students! The problem is that I just don't have a good way to display them! The revolving book stand will help more titles be seen and read by my students. It doesn't take up much space and can hold plenty of books. The floor pillows will provide a comfortable, welcoming, and fun setting for student reading. Adding comfort and organization to our classroom library will promote student reading and help students continue to enjoy and thrive during their daily independent reading time.
