This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 30 wonderful fourth graders. In our class, we study all subjects including math, language arts, science, and social studies. We are able to incorporate art and physical education into each subject. We are lucky to be a 1:1 classroom, which means that each of my students has access to their own Chromebook. My students all have different personalities, skills, talents, and goals for themselves in life.

They are a hardworking, and deserving group of students!

Although my students are 1:1 with technology, we are still a Title I school with 100% of our students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. We would love any amount you are able to donate so that we can continue to enrich our learning experiences!

My Project

My students are such amazing readers this year! I love that they have interest in new books and different books. They love to curl up in the corner with a pillow and a good book, and they often read books faster than I can keep them on the shelves. In addition to reading real books, my students also love to read using apps on their Chromebooks, such as Sora or our districts digital library. While we have a class set of headphones, some have become broken or damaged throughout the years and are in need of being replaced.

I would love to refresh our classroom library with books that they have personally requested to continue to grow their love for reading!

Each of my students was able to write down their favorite series, topic or book title they would like to see as a result of this project. I would also love to give a few of my students new, working headphones to use while they read stories on their Chromebooks. I am happy to say that if our project is funded, all of my students' requests will be granted and I will have some very happy readers!
